Sitting on 1,500 acres only 20 miles east of Paris is Disneyland Paris Resort. There are 150 acres dedicated to five theme parks - Main Street USA, Frontierland, Adventureland, Fantasy Land and Discoveryland. The most sought-after attraction is Chateau de la Belle au Bois Dormant (Sleeping Beauty’s Castle), which is in the style of a medieval palace and a French chateau.
Another popular feature is the futuristic Orbitron, a merry-go-round that flies riders through the skies of the park in rockets that were inspired by Leonardo DiVinci’s drawings of flying machines.
Big Thunder Mountain is a great ride where a runaway mine train speeds through the mountain landscapes reminiscent of the Wild West of the USA. Main Street is always a favorite with the flavor of America. There is a working ranch with stables and corrals. North American crafts along with a train depot are featured at the Cottonwood Creek Ranch.
Adventure Isle features the most famous pirate - Captain Hook, his ship along with Ben Gunn’s cave. Nearby is Pirates of the Caribbean where animated pirates besiege this massive fortress.
Alice’s Curious Labyrinth is a garden maze dominated by the Queen of Heart’s Castle and you’ll find the characters of Alice in Wonderland hanging about the maze.
Live shows are featured in the Videopolis, whereas the Le Visionarium’s film offers interplay between animated images. Star Wars is not omitted. A special Star Tour features a high-speed trip through space on a Starspeeder 3000 craft. |
